The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public land-grant research university located in Paradise, Nevada. The campus is situated about 1.6 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip. UNLV was previously a part of the University of Nevada between 1957 and 1969. The university includes the Shadow Lane Campus, which is positioned just east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
