University of Florida

The University of Florida is a public land-grant research university located in Gainesville, Florida. It is a senior member of the State University System of Florida and has been operating on its Gainesville campus since September 1906. In 2013, the Florida Board of Governors designated the University of Florida as a "preeminent university" after the establishment of performance standards by the Florida state legislature. The University of Florida is also a member of the Association of American Universities and holds the classification of "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity." It offers a wide range of master's and doctoral degree programs in various schools and departments.
