Moravian University, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is a private institution with a rich history. It was founded in 1742 by Moravians, who were descendants of followers of the Bohemian Reformation led by John Amos Comenius. Originally, the institution started as a girls' school. However, in 1807, it evolved into the Moravian College and Theological Seminary. The college received accreditation in 1863 and recently, in 2021, it was granted university status. Moravian University proudly considers its establishment date as the foundation of the girls' school, making it the sixth-oldest college in the United States.
