Michigan State University

Michigan State University, also known as Michigan State or MSU, is located in East Lansing, Michigan. It has a rich history, being founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan. This college was the first of its kind in the United States and played a significant role in the development of land-grant institutions. The introduction of the Morrill Act in 1862 led to the college being designated as a land-grant institution in 1863, making it the first of its kind in the country. In 1870, the college became coeducational, marking an important step towards inclusivity. The college was officially granted university status by the state in 1955 and adopted its current name in 1964.
