Colorado State University

Colorado State University (Colorado State or CSU) is a public land-grant research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is the flagship university of the Colorado State University System and is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity." The university has a rich history, originally founded in 1870 as Colorado Agricultural College and later renamed the Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1935. The current name, Colorado State University, was approved by the Colorado General Assembly in 1957. CSU's campus is home to several notable facilities, including the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory (EECL), the University Center for the Arts, the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA). The university offers a wide range of academic programs, with bachelor's degrees available in 65 fields of study, master's degrees in 55 fields, and doctoral degrees in 40 fields. Additionally, CSU offers a professional degree in veterinary medicine. The Colorado State Rams, representing CSU, compete in the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference.
