The City College of the City University of New York, also known as City College or CCNY, is a public research university in New York City. It was founded in 1847 and is the oldest institution of higher learning in the City University of New York system. Located in Hamilton Heights, Manhattan, the campus spans Convent Avenue from 130th to 141st Streets. The college's buildings were designed by architect George B.
