California State University, Northridge (CSUN or Cal State Northridge) is a public university located in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the largest comprehensive universities in the United States. The university has a significant impact on the California economy. CSUN initially started as the Valley satellite campus of California State University, Los Angeles, and became an independent college in 1958. In 1972, it adopted its current name.
