The University of Strathclyde is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland. It was founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute and received its royal charter in 1964. It is known as the first technological university in the United Kingdom. The university takes its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde. It has a diverse community with students and staff from over 100 countries. The institution has been recognized as University of the Year in both 2012 and 2019 by Times Higher Education, making it the first university to receive this award twice.
