About University

The University of Stirling, also known as Stir or Shruiglea, is a public university in Stirling, Scotland. It was founded in 1967 by royal charter. The university is situated within the Airthrey Castle estate, which is a walled property in the Central Belt of Scotland. The campus spans approximately 360 acres and includes the Stirling University Innovation Park and the Dementia Centre. It is located in the foothills of the Ochil Hills. In 2002, the university and the Airthrey Estate were recognized as one of the UK's top 20 heritage sites of the 20th century by the International Council on Monuments and Sites. The University of Stirling has established international degree programme partnerships with Hebei Normal University in China, Singapore Institute of Management in Singapore, and Oman. Additionally, the university offers a unique MSc in Human Rights & Diplomacy, which is taught in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
