The University of Cambridge is a prestigious educational institution located in Cambridge, England. It was established in 1209 and is one of the oldest universities in the world that has been continuously operating. The university was founded after a group of scholars left the University of Oxford due to a disagreement with the local community. Despite being considered rivals, both Cambridge and Oxford universities share many similarities and are often collectively referred to as Oxbridge. In 1231, the university received a royal charter from King Henry III, which officially recognized its status. Over the years, Cambridge has produced numerous accomplished individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields.
