Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university located in East Anglia, United Kingdom. It was initially established as the Cambridge School of Art in 1858 by William John Beamont, a Fellow of Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. In 1992, it attained university status and was subsequently renamed after John Ruskin, a renowned professor and author from Oxford University, in 2005. Ruskin himself delivered the inaugural speech for the Cambridge School of Art. ARU is classified as a "post-1992 university" and upholds the motto "Excellentia per societatem," which translates to "Excellence through partnership" in English.
