The Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) was an educational institution located in Limerick, Ireland. It had multiple campuses in Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel, and a regional learning center in Ennis. The main campus, situated at Moylish Park in Limerick, housed the Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology, and the School of Business and Humanities. The School of Art & Design was located at the Clare Street and Clonmel campuses. In collaboration with the Athlone Institute of Technology, LIT formed a consortium with the aim of establishing a technological university. This consortium submitted a joint application for Technological University status, which was approved by the government in May 2021. As a result, the institute of technology was officially dissolved on July 16, 2021, and was succeeded by the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, which began operations on October 1, 2021.
