Côte d'Azur University is a public research university located in Nice, France. It was established in 2019, replacing the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the community that was created in 2013. Jeanick Brisswalter was elected as the university's president on 9 January 2020. The University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, founded in 1965, consisted of eight faculties, two autonomous institutes, and one engineering school. It is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, which includes cities like Nice, Cannes, Grasse, and Menton, as well as the Sophia Antipolis technology park. The university is part of the academic region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, which encompasses the academies of Aix-Marseille and Nice. It received the IDEX award for its project "UCA Jedi," supported by various companies, under the chairmanship of Frédérique Vidal.
