The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university with campuses near Vancouver and in Kelowna. Established in 1908, it is the oldest university in British Columbia. The Vancouver campus is situated adjacent to the University Endowment Lands, located about 10 km (6 mi) west of downtown Vancouver.
